##SENDGRIDOPENTRACKING##
University of Missouri

Dear campus community,

Earlier today, a freshman participating in a social event at the Phi Gamma Delta house was transported to the hospital due to concerns about alcohol poisoning.

Currently, both MUPD and the Office of Student Accountability & Support are conducting investigations to determine if any criminal statutes or university regulations were violated. Phi Gamma Delta has been temporarily suspended by both the university and its national organization.

When the InterFraternity Council (IFC) became aware of the situation, they worked with university administration to halt all fraternity activities, including any social events, effectively immediately. IFC is the student leadership council of fraternities.

Due to this incident and other recent events, the university will be conducting a review of the Greek system, including a thorough review of the methods put in place to ensure safety at fraternity events.

The safety of our community is our highest priority. When we learn about incidents that threaten student safety, we use all of our resources to investigate and hold accountable those responsible of violating university rules and laws.

We appreciate the opportunity to work directly with IFC as we reaffirm our expectations for personal and academic growth in a safe environment. We continue to value your support as we work to ensure MU is a safe place.

Sincerely,

Bill Stackman
