About Us
Traditions are what draw us in and pull us back. They are cherished and revered. They give us chills and create wonderful memories. Upon them, many great things can be built. They create the tie that binds our students, faculty, staff and alumni.

The Mizzou Alumni Association (MAA) exists to preserve those traditions, connect alumni back to Mizzou and to each other, and support the University. The 2012-13 fiscal year was another successful one for the MAA with tremendous growth in a number of areas.

The association held 1,467 events with total attendance of 148,027 alumni and friends and engaged 1,348 alumni volunteers around the globe to actively support the University, association, chapters and organizations. More than ever, alumni are keeping in touch through the web and social media, including more than 294,000 website visitors, 16,000 Facebook fans, 10,000 Twitter followers, and 20,000 Mizzou Alumni LinkedIn group members.

The quarterly MIZZOU Magazine arrived at approximately 202,131 households, and @Mizzou, a monthly electronic newsletter, reached nearly 120,000 alumni for whom the MAA has registered email addresses. The association also sent more than 157,469 mailings and 7.3 million emails to alumni to inform alumni about activities, programs and promotions.

The MAA set new records for alumni participation in 2012-13, including Griffiths Leadership Society participants (455), Mizzou Advocates (4,556), Leaders Day participants (176) and Capstone Chapters (34). It was also a record year for philanthropy as the MAA provided $441,000 in scholarships and raised $95,720 for the Mizzou Traditions Fund.

The year's achievements did not go unnoticed by peer institutions as the MAA received nine awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) at the January 2014 District VI Insitutional Awards.

It has been another great year for the association, and our success is due to our strong tradition of alumni support. Every day, association staff and governing board members have a front row seat to witness this tradition.
